Historic Occasion
A couple of weeks ago our family participated in a historic event. As a family, each of us ran in our first 5 kilometer race. I was the motor to Ashley's race day chariot, while Amber kept us going at a respectable pace.
In the end, we all crossed the finish line at the same time (31:21). However, the photo clearly reveals that Amber beat the stroller by a knee. So, in my first race I can say that I was beaten by my pregnant wife and two year old daughter - although we all got the same time.

If something sounds odd from that statement, it's because that we're announcing the pending arrival of another child. We found out this morning that Ashley will have a little brother some time in September.

to raise a boy is totally foreign to us! I know you, and Ashley, will enjoy the experience!
Dad
@Ken - We realize that this will be a new experience for all of us, and we're quite excited!
Thank you for your comments and congratulations!
I personally have been looking forward to having a grandson to help us out when we are very old and feeble. But I am more excited to learn all of the in and outs of boys.
Ashley I am very proud of you for completing your first race. Way to Go! Scott I think that next time it is up to Amber to push the buggy and we'll see how well she does
keeping up with you. I'll bet you'll finish first. Congratulations Amber by winning by a knee. I think it is great that you were able to do it while your pregnant. I know I
wouldn't have even attempted it. You must be in training for that new baby boy to take your place on the track team! Congratulations to you all. It was easier reading
about your announcement than it was for me to post this comment. I tried once, I tried twice and now if I don't succeed this time I'll know Granny struck out and so will
you.
@April - Very astute observation. Thank you for pointing that out :)
The one race Julee and I ran in together I was able to come back at the last second to win it. It was close.
